When he started his new venture, he couldn't use his own name (Horch & Co.). So, he got creative. "Horch" is the German word for "listen," so he simply translated it to Latin. And just like that, "Audi" was born!

The Four Rings Aren't an Olympic Knock-Off

This is a common misconception, but the iconic four rings have a very specific meaning. In 1932, four German automobile manufacturers—Audi, Horch, DKW, and Wanderer—merged to form Auto Union AG.
